“Digital Media and Society” is a policy and practice engagement platform hosted by FLAIR – Forum for Learning and Action with Innovation and Rigour in Collaboration with Computer Society of India to discuss the influence of new digital social media technologies on social, political and economic spaces and relations and vice versa.
The outcome of the Conference will be Publication of Guidelines for practitioners and recommendations for the policy and law makers towards facilitation of benefits and mitigation of harms of digital and social media on children and young people.
The Guidelines will be based on deliberations at the Conference and learning from the best practices. We will upload the videos and documents from the conference proceedings on the website and circulate it widely amongst practitioners and academics and solicit their feedback for one month and incorporate them into the guidelines. We will bring out the guidelines in November 2018.
FLAIR and CSI have made “Digital Media and Society” a regular networking platform that interfaces between ICT and Social Science fraternity to enrich each others’ work in the best interest of society. We regularly hold meetings, seminars, webinars and provide handholding support to organizations working on the related issues. We work to mainstream good use of digital media for a social cause and this conference “Young Indians in Digital Society” is a part of the process and we will ensure that the learning from the conference are put to use in policy and practice through regular dialogue with the policy makers, industry and social sector.
